Dark tan half leather with light tan cloth boards; five raised bands and gilt details on spine. Original protective paper still on the back cover and the whole in original cardboard box with label on the front. The box lid has a detached end flap. The book is as new. Elephant folio 17 x 12 inches This volume is a translation of the seven books of the Geographia. 27 maps are from a copy of the manuscript by Donnus Nicolaus Germanus--the Codex Ebnerianus, plus the 1508 Ruysch map and the New World map from the 1522 edition. Introduction by Joseph Fischer of Stella Matutina College in Austria. Stevenson was a scholar of the geography, cartography and history of the New World and a professor at Rutgers.
