Binding in imitation vellum with impressed book details in gilt on front cover and spine. 4to - 9¾" - 12" tall Covers grubby, bumped; Vol II has perforations to the spine; small portions of the 'mock vellum' missing. Internally very clean, no foxing on pages or plates. All plates present as called for - penultimate plate loose. A travel narrative by an adventurous and accomplished artist. Apparently this was one of the works consulted by T E Lawrence when he was in Arabia in the early 20th century.
